MOVE

Ways to save energy and clear the air on the go.

Carpooling

Carpooling

Carpooling, or ride sharing, is one of the many ways we can reduce air pollution, and get our “own square of clean air.”

Who should carpool?

Carpooling is a great choice for people who do not need their car at work everyday, and those that have a consistent work schedule and travel more than 15 minutes to work. Carpooling is also flexible. You can carpool every working day, or just a few days a week. Even one day out of five means a 20 percent reduction in weekly wear and tear on your car.

Carpooling benefits

Carpooling serves as a great way to reduce traffic congestion and pollution. For every person who carpools, that’s one less vehicle on the road!

Carpooling is a great alternative to driving alone. It can be an avenue to meet new friends and business contacts.

Carpooling saves money. By sharing driving responsibilities with even one person, you can potentially reduce individual vehicle wear and tear and fueling and parking costs in half.

Carpooling isn't just a ride to work

High school and college students can share rides to school.

Parents with school aged children can “school pool,” by sharing rides to school with other parents and their children.
